Warby Parker
Inventory, Procurement, Costing, and Product Information Management
Challenge
The client was facing significant financial losses due to inefficiencies in their approval routing process, where approvals were being sent to incorrect approvers. This not only led to major audit issues but also required extensive manual effort to re-route requests to the right users, slowing down the entire procurement cycle. Additionally, during the project go-live, the client encountered a critical bottleneck when attempting to import over 150K parent and SKU items, along with more than 10 flexfield values, into Oracle Cloud’s Product Information Management (PIM) system. The massive volume of data caused system performance issues, leaving the client unable to upload the required item data for their 3P contacts. The client urgently sought a solution that could efficiently handle this large dataset, ensuring a seamless upload of item data to Oracle Cloud without compromising performance or accuracy.
Solution
As a solution expert, I led a series of collaborative working sessions with the client to fully understand their approval routing challenges for purchasing documents, such as purchase orders and blanket purchase agreements. By redesigning the approval process, we significantly streamlined operations, reducing the overwhelming volume of approval-related tickets and ensuring faster, more efficient procurement workflows. Additionally, I assisted the client in uploading style and SKU item data into Oracle Cloud, enabling Oracle to become the single source of truth for all their warehouse management systems, including their Supply Portal and FedEx system. This integration allowed the client to leverage these items for seamless inventory transactions, driving greater accuracy and efficiency across their entire supply chain.
